Welcome to 2017, where our culture and technology is constantly changing around us. Cars are built with so many safety features that they are built to stop on their own, mini robots and drones are being used more in industry, and yes, we do almost everything from our cell phone. A research study done by digitaltrends.com said that the average America spends 4.7 hours on their cellular devices a day. If the normal person is awake for 16 hours, that is over one-quarter of their time awake is on their devices. That time is being used to absorb information and to communicate to their many friends and contacts through, social media, email, texts, etc.
Here is a good reminder in light of these changes. We can call out to God, anytime and anywhere. God declared to Jeremiah in Chapter 33:2-3, an amazing promise. God said, “Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it—the Lord is his name: Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” Yes we have the privilege at any time to call out to God and He will hear us, He will answer us, He will show us the answers to areas of our lives that we need direction. We don’t need an app for our phone to call on God. We don’t need reception or wi-fi. We don’t need to be in a certain location. We just need a heart that is humble and faith that believes.
UPCOMING THIS MONTH
This coming month, we are going to be setting aside 40 days to focus on prayer. I want to invite you to be a part of this as we start off on Sunday, May 21st. Ask God to deepen your faiths and to open your eyes to see the amazing wonder and privilege it is that we can call on our Lord and our God! And pray that as a church body, we would all hunger more to call out to our amazing God.
